We use Geology, Oceanography, Weather, and Solar System from Milliken Press as the primary texts in this course. Through the completion of these texts the student will acquire the habit of careful research along with some additional investigation on the various topics which are covered this year. The student must then present the information which he has gathered in essays which will help to develop his writing skills. We also provide directions for numerous science projects which pertain to the course of studies such as rock collections, weather boards, etc. The Earth Science Syllabus has a day-by-day breakdown of this course along with essay topics, science projects, and a variety of teaching resources including Ninth Grade Subject Rubrics, Learning Objectives, science resource lists, and grading charts. This is a 1 year, 1 credit course.
